The Basin Reserve
Imagine…a venue hire for your corporate event which overlooks wide open green grass, with trees and hills forming the horizon boundary. This Wellington conference venue may even have cricket to accompany you! This is the oldest Test cricket ground in New Zealand, and the only one with Historic Place status.
‘The Basin’ is one of the world’s most iconic and intimate cricket venues and a unique Wellington offering. Our two function spaces look directly out onto the wicket, making it one of the most playful venues in New Zealand.
Our function rooms are in the RA Vance Stand, which has driveway access large enough for buses, and parking for up to 30 cars.
The Basin is just a few minutes walk from the CBD, Cuba Street and Courtenay Place. It is also close to bus stops for all major routes and has easy driving access to the motorway out of Wellington. The Wellington Airport is only 15 minutes drive away.
Through our partnership with Cricket Wellington and The Basin Reserve Trust, we can help arrange cricket activities such as practice in the indoor nets, team photos in front of the scoreboard, ground tours, meeting the Firebirds and much, much more.
